Executive Assistant
This paper will evolve around my first assignment as an executive assistant at Faith Community Hospital. Coming into a new company was difficult, especially with the problems that I would be facing. I was excited and very nervous at the same time. During my first meeting at Faith Community Hospital, I discovered that Faith Community Hospital had some problems that included communication among the employees, employee morale, the structure of the organization’s policies and procedures and the mission statement.
From my initial contact with Faith Community Hospital, I noticed that there were communication flaws among the employees. The problems that the employees encountered were not communicated across the board and no preventative actions were taken to correct the communication problem. Being that Faith Community Hospital has a diversified environment, I sensed that employees had to act as a team with their colleagues to make certain that communication was in force across the board. I recognized the fact that the success or failure of Faith Community Hospital would depend on how well employees communicate and collaborate together. A proposed solution for non communication would be to have more oral communication within the workplace. This can be done by setting up one-on-one meetings with subordinates, group training sessions and team meetings with other employees from various departments. Another solution for promoting effective communication among the employees would be motivation. I concluded that motivation among the employees at Faith Community Hospital could be a key aspect in achieving effective communication. If employees are able to motivate other employees, the staff could be more productive in communication. I also considered that motivation would increase employee’s drive in their roles at Faith Community Hospital.
