EXP105 Final Paper.
The concept of learning involves many features, and if used with intention it could open up your world of knowledge and information. I used to think learning was simply the process of retaining information, but I was wrong. After taking this course I have come to realize that real learning involves taking in the world around you, critically thinking and questioning, then making connections to personal experiences to make sense of it all. To give learning your intention you need to embrace new strategies, devote time, and the willingness to change the way you think to enhance yourself as an intentional learner. Since starting this class I have come to the understanding that by becoming intentional, learning can be my biggest and my most powerful asset as a student. Reflecting on how you learn and then making adjustments for progress, will leave you with endless possibilities for success.
As a Bridge Learner I use the majority of my Learning Patterns on a As Needed basis. I would intentionally Intensifying any specific, or all patterns to help make the most out of any assignment, quiz or discussion post. I use Sequence (28) as my only First Use as I make a habit out of structure, planning and organization. Additionally, I find is easier to get going if I have an example to follow. When starting a task I prefer to go in order from start to finish, however, I don’t let that get in the way of completing in a timely manner. With Precision (25) I could benefit from minor Tethering, when needed, as to control how I overdevelop responses by giving out too much information. On the other hand, I am always attracted to learning new things and I love getting feedback on my work as I appreciate the chance at improving and perfecting. I gather information and research before I am comfortable enough to make any decision, or move forward on an assignment.
