”What is the world is that loud noise?!”. That was the first the thought in my mind that moment. I opened my shut eyelids and stared at the ceiling for a moment. Gathering my thoughts, I could still hear that deafening tune! Am I crazy? I thought to myself. Unable to take the ringing any longer, furiously, I sat up in bed, frantically searching for the source of that irritating tune. I could feel a gentle vibration as I sat up in bed and I realised that both the tune and vibration was coming from under my pillow. I slipped my palm under the pillow and found the source of my morning blues. It was the alarm ringing from my PDA phone. A gentle tap on the screen ended the unbearable ringing. I looked at the clock at the clock sitting on my bed side table that showed 6.45 a.m. I lie in bed again, thanking God for the day. A rush of excitement surged through my body as I suddenly remembered that today is Wednesday, 5 Omega’s class trip!

Not wanting to waste a minute, I sprang out of bed and got ready for a day filled with surprises. After brushing my teeth and a short shower, I proudly put on my class shirt which read,”I Love 5 Omega” and a smile on my face to match it. I panicked when I saw the time on my wristwatch that showed 7.10 a.m., only twenty minutes to arrive in school on time. I rushed into the master bedroom to wake Daddy up. I let out a huge sigh after receiving a call from Soon Fei, knowing that we will both be late. After many swerves and jerks as Daddy drove, Soon Fei and I finally arrived in school. The school canteen, our meeting place, was empty. Not a single soul in sight. Then, I realised that my classmates had already boarded the bus. Giving daddy a peck on the cheek, I rushed out of the car along with Soon Fei. Carrying our bags and gifts for the children’s home, we headed to the bus where Mr. Jacob stood with a smirk on his face. He greeted our apologetic faces good morning.
