Factor to Be a Poor Person

Factors that could influence to be a poor person
There is a boom in the economy, the income of the rich greatly increased where the income of the middle and lower class only increased a little. Since the majority of Americans fall into the middle and lower class brackets, the few flourish while the many barely get by (Mantsios 311). Approximately, 12 percent of the American population that is nearly one of every eight people in this country lives below the official poverty line. Also, among the poor are over 2.3 million homeless, including nearly 1million homeless children (Mantsios 310). Even though everyone has an equal chance to succeed, not all the people living in America born with the same chance to success in life, and the reasons why it happen is because they don’t have a rich parent , they born being a female , and they are race’s people.
The first reason why a person has fewer opportunities to success in life is because s/he doesn’t born into a rich family. There are many parents in America that could not be able to get a good education when they were young and by consequence of that, they are poor or middle class people that are having struggles in life and economic problems than a rich parent does not live. Another thing why a person has less opportunity to success is because s/he did not grow up with his/her parents. For example, in the article “Class in America” by Gregory Mantsios, he shows an example of lady whose parents were a janitor and a waitress. In spite of having parents, she was reared by her grandmother. She had to go to public schools, work at the age of 17, her family activities was to go to the church, her ambition was to be a teacher, but by lack of money she was dropped out of school, and at her age of 38, she is working as a nurse aide at a hospital and her living conditions still being the same as she was young. It is sad to know that people who is poor during their childhood still being poor during their adulthood...
