“Blood Type Diet”
The Blood type diet focuses on a specific diet and exercise plan based upon what blood type a person is. It is believed that ones blood type may determine which diseases and illnesses that can develop. Based on your blood type results along with race determines tolerance to what a person should or should not eat as well as the 16 food groups that are highly beneficial, neutral or should be avoided. There are 4 blood types according to this diet, which include type O the oldest blood type, type A agrarian, type B nomadic and type AB modern. Within a blood type, alterations on the intake of a particular food group will have to be mad if Asian, Caucasian or African American. Type O blood is focused on a low carbohydrate diet and should eat lean meat, poultry, fish, fruits, vegetables while limiting grains and dairy along with exercising vigorously. Type A, a high carbohydrate and low protein should eat soy foods, grains, and organic vegetables and avoiding wheat and dairy while doing light exercise. Type B protein diet should eat dairy foods, meat, produce, corn or wheat and no beans along with moderate exercise. Type AB reflects a mixture of recommendations of balanced proteins and carbohydrates, focusing on eating seafood, tofu, dairy, produce, limit chicken, beef, and pork and do calming exercise. Overall the premise of this diet is by eating foods that are right for your blood type resulting in you feeling better, causing you to less likely store food as fat and less likely to develop certain diseases and cancers.
Peter J. D’Adamo a naturopathic physician developed and advocates this nutritional blood type diet. He claims that ABO blood type is the most important factor in determining a healthy diet and recommends distinct diets for each blood type.
