Fast Food Popularity in Dubai

Fast food or ready cooked food, in my opinion, is the most popular restaurant type in Dubai. Small, individually owned fast food restaurants are seen everyday increasing in number and expanding in streets of Dubai. On the other hand, while fast foods are widely used they are conventionally known to have many negative consequences on human health. Therefore, it is interesting to investigate the reasons behind fast food restaurants’ popularity among costumers the majority of whom being aware of the impacts of what they consume. Some of the main reasons to consider are the fast service, low price and recent changes in fast food production.
The fast service provided by fast food restaurants is the main reason behind their reputation. Even though these restaurants have repetitious menu, the fact that meal is prepared and served quickly is an advantage not traditional restaurants have. In addition, availability of fast food restaurants in almost every corner of Dubai such as in streets, shopping malls, and petrol stations can be considered as another advantage in their service. Nowadays the majority of people living in Dubai are labors and workers with time constraint for lunch hours increasing the demand for fast food during the working days of the week. Therefore, being widely available everywhere, fast food restaurants attract the majority of costumers. Another example of express service offered by fast food restaurants is the mechanical outlets provided outside their buildings giving the opportunity to the costumers not to wait in queues.
In addition to fast service, low price associated with fast food is another reason behind their reputation. Theoretically speaking, this point can be supported by economy of scale. Since large amounts of similar food are prepared per day, the meal constituents and material are bought by the restaurants from farms at lower price.
