Everybody experiences love at least one time in their lives. Whether it be love for an animal, boyfriend, or even shoes. But there’s nothing like the love of your life. The love of your life is someone who loves you unconditionally. That amazing person is my little munchkin Mya, my daughter. The gift of a child can change your life, and it definetly changed mines in the most amazing way.
Her name is Mya Renae Green. She was born December 21st, 2007, 7lbs an 11oz. The first thing I saw was her beautiful hair thickened by thousands of little curls in her head. The day she was born was the day my life changed for the better. Before I had her, my life had so many downs and I didn’t care about anything, I didn’t even care about myself.
Young and reckless described me perfectly at 15. Just irresponsible and bad decisions is all I knew. I didn’t care about school because the people surrounded me didn’t. To me, life had no rules and if they did the consequences didn’t matter. Then one day I chose to lose my virginity without contraception and the consequences were pregnancy at 16 years old. Nine and half months of what people said were pose to be something beautiful felt just like I had the weight of the world inside my belly and my back felt like someone stabbed me in it. But when I think about how she gave me the motivation to switch lanes in this thing called life it was all worth it. Everything including my characteristics and morals I never had, changed drastically in a good way.
Loving, caring, patient, unselfish are all words I can use to describe me now thanks to Mya. Before I was so selfish, I didn’t care about anyone, anything, and wasn’t grateful for the few people who truly loved me because I was so blinded by my selfish ways. My temper use to be as fiery as you imagine the flames in hell, it was that bad. Having Mya taught me patience which is something you need throughout in all aspects of it.
