Favorite Book (a Child Called It)

One of my favorite book that I read in my reading class was A Child Called It, by
David Plezer. The book was about himself and how his mother used to treat him as a
child. She didn’t like to feed him. She also would play “games” with him. Him mother
would also abuse him mentally, physically, and emotionally. it’s a really sad story, but a
good one to read.
The book starts off with David or should I say “the boy” because that’s what his
mother and father calls him. So “the boy” is washing dishes and his mother comes and
slaps him, and he just has to take it cause he’s only 5 years old. He also has 2 other
brothers that are treated very good. There is no abuse or anything done to them. So they
are at the table eating while “the boy” is washing the dishes and getting beat on. He also
has not eaten in two days because they don’t like to feed them. So “the boy” always try to
stay on his best behavior so he can get the left over cereal from his brothers bowls. He
really is not a bad child but he gets in trouble in school for stealing food, but he only does
it just so when he gets home he will have enough energy to take the beatings for him
mother.
“The boy” also have to play games with his mother. Not games the you might
have played with your parents or your children. These games were cruel. One of his
mothers games were when she thought he had been stealing food from school, when he
got home she would get a big bowel and make him vomit the food up into the bowel then
eat it again. Another one of his mothers nasty games was she would make him clean the
bathroom with the door closed and would pour ammonia and bleach on the floor while he
was bare foot so it would burn his feet. It was also hard for him to breath because of all
the fumes. And that’s not the last thing she would also make him swallow a spoon full of
ammonia to burn his tongue, throat, and stomach.
“The boy” mother did not only abuse him physically, but...
