Film review
Charlie is a teenager who is nervous because his starting the high school.
He became friend with two senior, Sam and his half-brother Patrick. He went to a high school dance. After the dance, they take him to a party, where he eats a cannabis brownie and becomes high. He said to Sam that his best friend committed suicide. He also saw Patrick and Brad, a popular athlete, kissing in a room. On the way home from the party , the three drive through a tunnel and Sam gets up from the back of the truck while listening to a song they call " The Tunnel Song " .
During Christmas, they organizes a secret Santa. Sam was not Santa Charlie but she gave him a typewriter. Charlie reveals that he has never been kissed. Sam reveals that her first kiss was the boss of her father when she was 11. She adds that, even if there is a boy she likes, she wants Charlie's first kiss to be from someone who loves him. Then she kisses him and says she loves him.
Mary Elizabeth, asks Charlie to the Sadie Hawkins dance. After the dance, Mary Elizabeth takes Charlie home and they kiss. She says how happy she is to have him as her boyfriend.
They break up during a game of Truth or Dare, when Charlie kisses Sam after they dared to kiss the prettiest girl in the room. Charlie returns to isolation after Patrick tells him to stay away until things cool down.
Brad’s father found them kissing and beats Brad in front of Patrick. In the school cafeteria, Brad Patrick called a ' fagot ' because Brad doesn’t want his friends to know that they were friends. Patrick attacks Brad, but Brad’s friends beat him. Charlie intervenes, beating Brad’s friends and he passed out. And when he returns to reality he realized that he had bruises and the boys are on the ground. Charlie helps Patrick to his feet and coolly warns Brad, “Touch my friends again, and I'll blind you." Patrick, Sam and Charlie reconcile. Patrick takes Charlie to a park and discusses how he witnessed Brad’s father beat him when...
