LEFT SIDE VS. RIGHT SIDE 1
When I decided to choose this topic as the topic for my final paper I knew that I would have to do quite a bit of research on the left and right side of the brain to further understand the individual functions of each side and how each side impacts learning. I was quite surprised when I learned exactly how the brain works and how each side impacts learning. In this essay I will explain how the left and right side function and what each side contributes to learning and its impact on learning.
When I began doing my research I discovered or shall I say refreshed on some things about the brain that I remember learning in high school such as how the brains right hemisphere controls the muscles on the left side of the body while the left hemisphere controls the muscles on the right side of the body, I found this quite interesting how the brain has this crisscross wiring going on when I always thought naturally that the right side would control the right side and the left side would control the left side but as I further searched I quickly found out the differences between these two sides and what they had to offer.
When it comes to the right side of the brain this side is mainly in charge of spatial abilities such as visual facial recognition and processing music, your right side of the brain performs some math such as rough estimations and comparisons. The right side of the brain also makes sense of what we see it helps us to comprehend visual imagery and it plays a role in language as far as interpreting context and a person’s tone other things associated to the right cerebral hemisphere according to trampe (2010) are: good at sports, good at art, prefer visual examples, prefer group, philosophical, good at geometry, can listen to music while studying, can memorize music, solve problems intuitively, occasionally absent minded, good at...
