First Impression

First Impression

Describe your first impression of your institute.
I quickly got up and rushed to the bathroom to get ready for my first day because I don’t want to get scolding from the seniors during our first meeting. I was so scared the bathrooms will be full and I have to wait long. Fortunately, it wasn’t. Everything was so quiet and calm except for the ones who are taking their bath. God was on my side I guess. Then the whole week was all about orientation and knowing IPDA. I even noticed that everyone here wears a tag on their neck and it’s quite difficult to differentiate a lecturer and a student.
We had so many talks presented by all the head departments in IPDA. The talks went on from morning till night. All the talks were held at the Ibnu Khaldun hall which was very comfortable and cold. Some talks were boring and I did fall asleep a few times. This was when I really got to know my course mates. I really didn’t expect to see my junior in school to be here with me doing the same course in the same class! All the girls were very friendly and it’s surprising how we got bonded fast. I was very close to Tengku Hasifah at that time. Actually I thought I’ll have a tough time but I know the 5 years experience in boarding school will really helped me a lot in going through my life here.
First impression is very important but we are the ones who are controlling our mind. Luckily for me, I did not have very high expectations but I just prayed hoping that everything will go on well even tough I know the sky isn’t always clear. I reminded myself to think positively so that things will go like my way. Now it doesn’t matter so much since I’m already going to start my second semester soon. But I’m clear about one thing; coming to IPDA was a right decision!
