This Elson speaker provided me with a lot of information and knowledge on fitness. I was educated that this is a country on non-activity and sixty percent of Americans don’t get enough regular activity. Being obese or not having enough regular activity is a major risk of seven out of ten deaths.
Being physically fit has a lot of benefits; decreases your chance of heart disease, obesity, cancers, depression, effects of aging, reduces stress, improves your mood, and overall it makes you feel better. Many people believe that you have to spend hours and hours in the gym to stay fit, well that’s not true, you can exercise thirty minutes a day to stay in good shape and improve you health. She also told us that people that say "they don’t have enough time" actually have plenty of time. They could workout in between commercials while watching TV and park in the back of the lot so that they could walk a longer distance.
There are many things you could do like, go swimming, run, walk, bicycling, jumping, or any kind of sports. People who want to shred fat or gain muscle can weight train. The benefits of weight training are; an increase in muscular endurance, enjoyment/participation, muscle mass, your metabolic rate, effects of aging, and you can start to see you self-esteem increase. Like before you don’t need to be in the gym everyday all day, you need to get at least 2-3 days a week in. While weight training some key facts are that reps are the key in what kind of fitness you’re trying to receive. You need more that 15reps for endurance, 8-12 for general health, and 6-8 reps for size. After attending this speaker I would recommend this speaker/topic again for future years.
