Fitness Database
Our team has chosen a business that we consider to have a need for a database that could enhance customer satisfaction. Using a model fitness center we decided to use a reporting feature the fitness center had, but to take it to another level. The object was to create a database designed to enable and recreate a fitness reporting system that can utilize the current technology, and hardware available within budget. This database is to become a type of customer weight loss information repository, while offering information that customers may want during their weight loss program. We will describe the database design and components needed in order to have a properly functioning part of everyday business.
The employees of the fitness center will be the end users, and they will input and retrieve all data. When customers sign up for a membership their personal information will be keyed into the system by using a form. A trigger for the customer information will be used; currently in design is a coded keychain. When scanned a form will come up on the computer, and depending on which computer the key is scanned on, is the determination to what view or form is used to access the fitness data. The forms will be accessible on each computer. The hardware for the new fitness DB will have the resources necessary to run a professional operating system and handle the needs of Microsoft SQL Server without any interruptions.
The fitness experts require only one PC. They will weigh and measure all customers during their initial visit and every one-month interval thereafter or as the customer specifies. These values will be entered by way of a form. This PC has the same requirements as the aforementioned systems. A printer is also needed for the fitness experts’ station.
