There are over 250,000 possible ways to order a burger at Five Guys. They only use fresh ground beef. Everything is fresh and found in coolers, nothing is ever frozen and they only use peanut oil. Five guys fast food chain was founded by Jerry and Janine Murrell who offered advice to the four young Murrell brothers: “Start a business or go to college.” The business route won and the Murrell family opened a carry-out burger joint in Arlington, Va. in 1986.
Five Guys philosophy is simple. “We follow the philosophy of focusing on a few items, and servicing them to the best of our ability. If we were to add our menu, then you can guarantee that we would only do so if we could serve the highest quality product possible.” (Five Guys Holding, LLC. 2012) The company has had strong business philosophy since its origin. The idea of juicy hamburgers and fries which appealed to the masses; it has been clever in combining a unique recipe in itself differentiates the product from its competitors. There major ones being McDonalds, Wendy’s, and Burger King. The company also restrains from serving frozen or dehydrated products to customers which sets its taste apart for the competitors. Jerry Murrell decided on keeping the basics for the restaurant by starting with the menu; which has not changed or had any additional items added to the menu. The menu offers hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, grilled cheese sandwiches, veggie burgers, free peanuts, and of course french fries.
Five Guys took pride in their values for the company and believed in using top quality ingredients and always treating the customer’s right.
