The science of nutrition goes beyond eating to survive. Nutrition is life, without a good and healthy eating habits people can develop diseases which will result in high medical bills, pain and suffering and even death. According to contemporary nutrition (2009), nutrition is a lifestyle factor, which is the key to developing and maintaining an optimal state of health. Therefore, if you want a long disease free life, eating the proper foods, not smoking and drinking alcohol will promote age-less beauty and a healthier body. In this week paper I will discuss the importance of good and proper nutrition and also determines if my body is getting the right amount of nutrients recommended by the dietary reference intake of the United State and Canada.
Most people knows that a well balances diet is the key to living a healthier life, however, most people do not have the time and money to eat health, which result in making bad choices about what we put into our bodies. People are busier than ever now and days, juggling a family, work, school, a business and spending time with family gets in the way of what we eat.
To satisfy our hungry we eat on the go, ordering food from fast food restaurants, which is convenient and cheap and full of trans-fat, preservatives and high sodium. These bad decisions about not consuming the right and proper nutrients will result in developing chronic diseases which the body may not be able to fight as your body ages. Nutrients are the study of how the body uses substances to promote and support growth, maintenance and reproduction of cells, (Wardlaw & Smith, 2009).
Just like most people, I am guilty in making bad choices about what I put into my body, due to the fact I do not have the time or the energy to cook health for myself anymore. Since moving to Texas, from New York, my good eating habits and physical activities has decrease and bad...
