Hi my name is Devarice Howard and today I will be interviewing a very close friend of mine whom, which also is my mother but she isn’t by blood relations. Her name is Doris Gros and she has worked in hotel and a couple of restaurants herself.

Hi, Mrs. Gros how are you doing today? I’m doing quite well this evening how about yourself? I’m doing fine thank you for asking! Now can you tell us a little bit about yourself please, sure thing what would you like to know Mr. Howard? First can you start by telling us where you from and what you’ve done in life up until this point in time? Well let’s see I was born in the west bank which is in New Orleans, Louisiana and I love the cooking and service industry. I chose Doris, because she share the same love I do for Culinary Arts.

Question 1: What is the importance of service? The thing that’s important to me about service is that you should feel welcome and feel reassured that any and everything will be taken care of and that you should feel part of the family no matter where you are.
Question 2: What does hospitality and tourism mean to you? Hospitality to me means you should feel welcome and that you know you’re going to be taken care of not just as a another customer but as family.
Question 3: What was your position when you worked? Well I was the hostess or more known as the care taker I made sure everyone felt like that they was protected and made sure their rooms and services where up to standard.
Question 4: What did you enjoy about your job? The thing I enjoyed about my job was that I got to take care of people and show them that no matter what they would be taken care of even if I had to go and clean and unclog their sinks and toilets.
