John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish and have everlasting life.” This bible verse is one of my favorite when I was a kid. I don’t exactly know what it means, I thought that it’s just a simple verse like any other verses in the bible which we need to memorize.

I grew up knowing that God is my God. He is the most powerful, He is caring and forgiving, everything in Him is perfect! Because that’s what the people around me say so. I don’t even know how God works, all I know is that I’m thankful for all the blessings He gave me, I don’t even experience difficulty in life back then.

I learned about salvation during our Daily Vacation Bible School at Grace Baptist Church when I was in grade 5. It was teacher Pearl who introduced me to it. I was amazed by what she said, accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, confess all your sins and ask forgiveness from Him and you will be saved. She also said that salvation is a gift from God and is offering to it to me. Really? I will be saved? I’ll have eternal life in heaven and all my sins will be forgiven? I really can’t believe that accepting Christ will save me. I’ve ask a few people how true it was to remove the doubt in me, and it was absolutely true! Then I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ, believing in Him and trusting in Him, knowing that He has already forgiven all my sin and have an eternal life.

Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ, it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” Now I am a Christian, and being one is not a joke. I am expecting a lot of trials for me but I never thought that it would be this hard. Honestly, I am not living a life as what a Christian should have. I seldom read the bible, I sometimes forget to pray, and I don’t attend worship services every Sunday....
