Alright folks, I think that it is time that we had… the talk. You know, time we discussed the beauty of life… and… love. You might have guessed that my talk today is on Gratitude, in the spirit of the season.
Point 1: I am grateful for where I am, when I am there.
Alma 34:38 contend no more against the Holy Ghost, but that ye receive it, and take upon you the name of Christ; that ye humble yourselves even to the dust, and worship God, in whatsoever place ye may be in, in spirit and in truth; and that ye live in Thanksgiving daily, for the many mercies and blessings which he doth bestow upon you.
SO much of the beauty of living in Provo is that we have people here from every walk of life. We come from everywhere around the globe, and find each other here, in this place, with these people.
How many of us have found ourselves here because of a prompting, and don’t know why we are in “this place” yet?
Still, in our trials, some cannot wait to escape from here, to be rid of school, to be rid of certain people, or from certain responsibilities.
Alma 34:38 says: humble yourselves even to the dust, and worship God, in whatsoever place ye may be in, in spirit and in truth; and that ye live in Thanksgiving daily, for the many mercies and blessings which he doth bestow upon you.
For those who have followed those promptings to be here: you have done so well with receiving the Holy Ghost. Step one accomplished. But when you get tired, and it seems your reason for being here is useless, the lord asks that you humble yourselves again, one more time. Even if the place you find yourself is little old Provo Utah. Believe it or not, the lord placing you here, is one of his many mercies and blessings. Believe that
For those who are just here because of outside circumstances. God placed you on this earth for a reason, because of his love for you, and that you might have JOY. This is his one of his tender mercies and blessings.
