I Believe in Being at Peace with the World
Have you ever felt like everything is going bad but you still find joy in the day?
Then you have experienced being at peace with the world. Being at peace with the
world is something that not many can do, but when discovered it is a wonderful feeling. I
discovered this when I was 15 years old and have been using the feeling since.
The cool thing about this feeling is that you can see and feel all that is going
around you like your in a third person view. One of my memories is having a bad day
and needing something to do. So I decided to clear my mind and walk outside, I needed
to focus on something to avoid more frustration with the day. After a little bit of thought I
decided to focus on my surroundings. I was then suddenly able to smell all the different
things around me, the stench of beauty bark laid on the yard, the smell of falling pine
needles on the tree. I even smelled the subtle, but clearly spoken, rain. It was a great
feeling that I didn’t want to stop, so I decided to walk over to the parking lot and see
what was going on. I saw a small kid playing on his tricycle, (my neighbor), and his
mother who showed no grief, but was smoking her cigarette, I also saw that our tree
was damaged from a woodpecker after seeing a lot, but very small, holes in the tree.
Being at peace with the world helped my vision improve and I noticed a lot of small
details that others wouldn’t notice at first.
Before I found this state of mind I went to Whistler Canada and found the place
to be pretty cool, I didn’t enjoy the food since I was young and picky. I only wanted a
double cheeseburger from McDonalds, but it was a vacation and I enjoyed it. The
second time I went though, I was older and had learned how to be at peace. Then I
noticed that the place was a busy town based solely on vacationers, the people there
worked for a summer or a year then moved on. I also realized that there was a lot of
