Wash Your Hands Every 30 Minutes
The word germ is synonymous with gross, nasty, and filthy things. No matter how much we try to get rid of them they are never completely gone. Even though we cannot get rid of all germs the less we have the better. When I was younger a trip to a buffet scared me for life and has left me paranoid of restaurants. While at the buffet I went to use the bathroom and watched the same man who made my mother’s steak use the bathroom and walk right out without washing his hands. Because of the disgusting experience at the buffet, I feel that restaurant employees should be required to wash their hands at least every 30 minutes to avoid making spreading germs to the customers.
Everyday millions eat at a restaurant whether it is dine in or dine out which means that there are millions of people serving the food. While at a restaurant the customer expects the chef and server to maintain a certain level of cleanliness to avoid unnesscary germs on their food. If there is a virus outbreak millions could easily be affected if food servers did not wash their hands frequently. In fear of an outbreak some families may choose to only eat at home because it may be safer. When it comes to a restaurant there are many places where germs can thrive. Employees who fail to wash their hands after using the bathroom have started the first step in spreading germs that eventually enters the consumer’s body. Unwashed hands could come in contact with the cash register, silverware, then the food which goes in the customer’s mouth. If employees at restaurants washed their hands every thirty minutes it would cut down on the millions of germs spread daily.
Employers should make it mandatory for their employees to wash their hands at least every thirty minutes to ensure cleanliness of the restaurant and the food sold there. If employees fail to wash their hands there should be some sort of punishment for the...
