My current goal in life is to obtain my master’s degree. The question is “Why”. Why go for your masters and why not stop at your associates or bachelors. I don’t want to stop because, I would be holding myself back. “Never settle for less, settle for the best”. I wouldn’t hold myself back from learning. Learning is a powerful tool. And if it’s there why not use it. I look at it as you have to do it eventually in life so why not do it now and get it over with rather than wait until your mid-life and have to deal with alot more. Even if you do wait until your midlife it’s never too late. There are many steps to take going about getting your degree. The most important step is you. Are you ready to go to school? Can you mentally challenge yourself? Are you focused and self-motivated to work toward your goal? I have many obstacles that stand in my way. The main obstacle in my way is my free time. Such as clubbing, shopping and just spending time with my battle buddies. In life, you have to have fun but, school comes first and I have to learn how to separate the too. It’s a time for both but if I can’t equal the two out then, its school first. The one person that supports my goal to the fullest is my mother. And she is one of the reasons why I am so determined to get my degree. She is also in school working towards her bachelors. And she tells me all the time if she could go back to my age she would of attend college and stayed in. Even though she made it through this far she still struggles. But, I am going to finish and get my degree and if I stay self-motivated I will continue until get my PhD.
