Good afternoon Madam Speaker, Madame Adjudicator, time keeper, Ladies and Gentlemen.
The topic for our debate is, ‘A man’s wife should be his best friend’.
To start off, I would like to give you the definition of a ‘best friend’.
Best Friends are very special people in your life. They are the first people that you think about when you make plans. They are the first people you go to when you need someone to talk to. You will phone them up just to talk about nothing, or the most important things in your life. They are the people in your life who will walk a million miles to see you, the ones that make you cry, just because you miss them. They bring you the most joy when you’re sad and they will try their hardest to cheer you up. Best friends give the best hugs in the world. They are the shoulder to cry on, because you know that they truly care about you. In most cases they would take a bullet for you, because it would be too painful for them to watch you get hurt. Last but not least, best friends are people we enjoy the company of most.
Being the spouse of a person, you should relate to each other, at all times. You need to be able to enjoy their company, and feel comfortable while doing so. A wife is someone who nurtures you, and is willing to hear you out although it’s just the smallest thing, that’s bugging you.
Anyone we are acquainted with, is defined as 'friend'. When you have a wife, she should be so important, as to be number one. Hence, you should marry the best out of all, which is, your best friend.
It’s only natural to be best friends with the person you're going to be spending the rest of your life with. Honesty and understanding are the main foundations of any relationship. You should trust your spouse more than you trust anyone else.
On top of that, when you marry your best friend, you will have her by your side 24-7. That way, you get the best of both worlds.
