“Going As Far As My Integrity Will Take Me”

When in think of the term philosophy I have to pause and ask myself what does it really mean to me. Furthermore, I have to ask myself what role does it play in sports and what relevance will it have on my future as a sport marketer. Philosophy to me is the study of truths about reality. The search for wisdom and integrity. My philosophy in life is to go as far as integrity will allow, being loyal and faithful in the small things of life, honest in all my dealings and to be a seeker who always swims.
When I think of the values that I hold in high esteem I think of honesty. Being in marketing one has many options as to how to close a deal. The most important question one should ask themselves before doing so is how this will affect our future relationship. Is it worth closing a million dollar deal being dishonest and my client finds out or is it worth being honest and my client respecting me and wanting to continue our working relationship. That is how I build my values. I believe all it takes is one wrong move and I will have tarnished my reputation in the community. Then who will do business with me once that happens. The true essence of my philosophy is easy, “Taking my integrity as far as it will allow”. My actions reflect my beliefs in such away that I am a Christian first. Through this it is essential for me to walk a Christian filled life. It is when you have a spiritual foundation and truly try to live it that we are able to walk upright. Not to say that we as Christians (or whatever one’s belief) don’t slip and fall. But to say that when we have the important things imbedded in us that is what makes us tick. At that point, we have at least the basis that gives us the choice to uphold truth and to do the right thing.
