Chapter 2:
Jess plays soccer with her friends, then her cousins Monika, Blubby and Meena arrive. They talk a bit about the guys, Jess is playing with. Then another girl arrives who invites Jess to play soccer in her team because the girl, Jules, thinks that Jess plays well. The guys are just laughing at Jess but she thinks this could be the chance she was always waiting for.
First training, Jess is really surprised that the girls’ team played on a real ground, but first she has to meet the coach Joe. They talk a bit about Jess’ best position and then Joe wants her to play and to take her boots on. After the match, during a talk with Joe, Jess finds out that it is Jules earnings that there is a girls’ team.
Chapter 3:
Jess is back at training and gets a pair of boots from Joe and her own Harriers shirt. In the changing rooms she meets the captain.
After that she does not want to join the training because of her scar of public. Joe wonders why Jess does not join so he decides to speak with her, then he sees her scar and understand, but he encourage her and so Jess also start training.
After training Jess walks through the park where she used to play before. There she talks with Tony about training and plays a little bit with the guys. Suddenly Taz lifts her up into the air. Everyone laugh but Jess mother stands stunned in the park seeing it all.
Back at home Jess parents forbid her to play soccer anymore, because that is not what an Indian girl in her age should do. Her mother is scared that one day she could not set any foot in the temple, because someone brought shame on her family.
In the park Jess discus with Tony about her problem, she does not understand her parents. Then Jules arrives, she tells Jess about an American scout, who is coming over.
she gets the finally solution for Jess’ problem: Jess will tell her parents that she got a summer...
