Hallyu Wave

Hallyu Wave

Nowaday, society is growing more and more and it brings many opportunities for the youth to access to many cultures around the world. Korean’s culture, especially ‘Hallyu’ wave is one of it. In Vietnam, almost teenagers are crazy fan of K-Pop (Korean pop or Korean popular music) even when they don’t understand what’s the K-Pop song talking about. There are many reasons to explain this trend: firstly, Korea’s singers are really beautiful/handsome/…, their video clips always are invested really carefully with a high quality, their fashion and style always attract the youth; secondly, this sound of Korean’s music is easy to remember even when you don’t understand it; thirdly, it’s a trend and some teenager don’t want to be backward... Some people listen to this kind of music to entertain but someone else addicted to it and always see Korea’s singers are the saints and ‘crazy’ with them. Sometimes, between the fan clubs broke out the argument, even fight to protect their idols. Added to this, some ‘crazy’ fan can give up anything including their family, they can prostrate themselves before their idols and hang up the Korean’s flag on National Day of Vietnam… I’m young and I like K-Pop too but I can’t understand why do they do like that. What about Vietnam’s traditional culture? What about 4000 years history of Vietnam? To be a fan of somebody is good but don’t be an addict, don’t be an ungrateful person. We can learn international culture but don’t lose our identity.
