Freshman Seminar
I Angela Ray am here at Fayetteville State University to further my education and better myself. I chose to further my education because I would like to be the first one in my family to receive a college degree. Academically I am at a very steady pace at the current moment. Right now I’m average, but I know I need to get above average. I hope in the future I can better my study habits and stay more focused. By next semester I should be where I want to be academically. My weakest point right now I feel is math. I know that I can go to the Helen T. Chick building and get a tutor to better my math skills which needs to happen very soon. My strongest point at the moment I would have to say is English. On my first paper I received an “A” and I do all of my response papers assigned with no hesitation.
Counseling here is not necessary for me. I feel that I don’t have any major problems that need to be addressed. My computer lab in my dormitory is always available for me to type my papers so there is no problem with me getting important papers typed.
My responsibilities at the moment are just myself. I have to make sure that I push myself to stay focused. I have a tendency to stray away from what is important and that can’t happen because I’m not in high school anymore. There isn’t anyone to push me or call my parents I basically have to be responsible for myself especially since I am away from home. My biggest responsibility is to graduate from college on time with all of my credits so that I can become a successful teacher.
My assets are that I am a good listener to other people’s problems. I basically fix other things with other people before I fix the things that are wrong with me. I have a tremendous sense of humor that is unbearable at times in a good way. And I love to write even when I don’t feel like it. I write really good papers and that’s a major asset to me.
