HARPUR JAZZ ENSEMBLE MID-DAY CONCERT

The concert was took place at the Osterhout Concert Theater which is on the Cornfell University Campus on Thursday, November at 1:20 p.m.The estimated size of group was 200 and the majority was the old generation. A big-band repertoire was performed by 8 performers including Walter White.There was three tenor saxophonists who are Jeremy Gold, Camille Thurman and Mike Carbone where he also performed flute.Moreover, Gabriel Luce performed piano, Tyler Vallet performed bass, Joseph Frasca performed guitar and Brad Koegel performed drum set.
Walter White and the three saxophonists especially Mike Carbone were skillful and reflected their personal presentations ; but the others played a role as colorists.Mike Carbone was prominent in the sense of energy of presentation and ability to capture interest.Moreover, his tone quality was really amazing.
When the swing feeling was considered, steady tempo and syncopation were achieved but the rise and all of tension was really disturbing on account of Walter Whites’ bad technique.On the other hand, groove of coordination was performed well and the energy of liveliness where Mike Carbone played an important role to provide it.When considered as a whole, the performance has a swing feeling where the listener felt the pleasure.1:20 p.m.The estimated size of group was 200 and the majority was the old generation.
