For the purpose of this assignment I will discuss in detail the following topics: Comparing personal and values and principles of support for work in health and social to actual principles of support within health and social care i.e. the Northern Ireland Social Care Counsel (NICSS) codes of practice. I will give my own personal interpretation of these codes of practice and relate them to my own work practice. I will also assess how personal experience and culture can influence ones role in supporting service users and others in health and social care settings. I will elaborate on what influenced me in my life to become involved in social care, such as family, life events etc. I will evaluate how new developments and changes to personal values can impact on health and social care work. I will also assess my personal value base and ask whether my personal values can be influenced by any developmental changes at work or in policies or by legislation. Finally I will conclude this assignment by relating all topics above to my present practice and hypothesising whether my personal value base has changed or has been impacted by changes in legislation or policies at work.
