Healthy Eating vs. Non-Healthy Eating
Eating is a necessity for all individuals. In today’s society fast food is prevalent and promoted constantly. The responsibility lies with us for what we consume. The choice is ours what we are about to eat and the affect it will cause on our bodies. The idea of this topic is to compare and contrast the differences between eating healthy foods instead of non-healthy foods. The three main elements are flavor, health benefits, and price
The most obvious difference between these two types of eating is the flavor. Healthy foods when prepared by us have great flavor and taste because we do nothing that will take away from their natural goodness. Non-healthy foods served at fast food places however, lack a lot of their flavor characteristics because there are some chemical products added to the foods in order to preserve them during shipment before being prepared. It is a no brainer that the fresh foods will have a greater taste and flavor when consumed just because of the way in which they have been prepared.
Comparing both types of foods we observe another difference. There is a health factor that affects both of them. Processed/fast foods lose some of the original fresh food nutrients when cooked and packaged, and also it has to be preserved with many preservatives and chemical factors that prolong the shelf life and apparent freshness of the food but could also become toxic if not properly prepared. Other risk factors are; high blood pressure, cholesterol problems and especially weight issues.
Still another difference between these two types of foods is the cost. Healthy foods prepared at home are more cost effective than fast foods. The benefit that some individuals associate with buying fast foods is that it is easier to purchase when we are in a...
