Health Journal Summary
Going with this assignment for two weeks has showed me many of bad and good habits that made me realize what I need to do to better myself. Looking back at the chart I have made I believe that I need to spend more time in the area of sleeping. My sleeping schedule varies, I would go to sleep somewhat early or very late. When I do not get the eight hours of sleep that I needed I notice throughout my day that I am very sluggish and that I need to nap. During the second week, I didn’t nap and got 8-9 hours of sleep. With getting enough sleep I felt my day very productive and not sluggish like I was the week before.
Looking back at my eating habits, my eating habits today are not as they should be for an eighteen year old athlete. The way I eat today is whatever they serve in the cafeteria and even what they serve in the cafeteria is not the healthiest food to eat. I need to change the way I eat by having no soda strictly water, eating as much chicken and vegetables as possible, staying away from fast food or even the grill in the cafeteria and cutting out all our late night food runs. What I need to start eating is soup and salad, omelette, pasta and eating wraps instead of the sandwich.
As a softball player, I do admit that once softball season starts up officially the workouts would be more intense, our eating habits would change even more because we would be traveling most of the time or even having late practices that we may or may not miss the cafeteria for dinner.
