In 1974, there was one cartoon character crossed the border of Japan and entered the world with an image of cuteness, friendliness and peace. Hello Kitty, whose height was only about 5 apples, has occupied a special place in the children’s heart all over the world. She sometimes carries out the special task as an ambassador of Japan tourism or of the United States’ children. (1)People have given her so much love and special privileges that sometimes I wonder why is she being loved so much?
As a matter of fact, I found Hello Kitty with 47,300,000 results on Google, which is almost thrice the result of Mickey Mouse (17,200,000) and about seven times the result of Donald Duck (6,900,000). Although Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck are famous cartoon characters, they are not as popular as Hello Kitty. A question is being asked, why this little Hello kitty could be so widely known, even more than those famous characters of Disney?
Unlike Mickey and Donald, Hello Kitty is famous with the simple features on her face. A little red bow, tilts on her left ear, is well matched with the wide – rounded face. The two little ears stretch out of her head create a kitten – like look. It is unique that she doesn’t have a mouth, so it’s depend on the customer to think what mood she is in. Nevertheless, it seems her small circular eyes want to tell me that she is pure and innocent. The cute upturned – nose of hers shows an eagerness, just like she wants to say “come and join us”. Hello Kitty is friendly; everyone could tell that by looking at her picture. Her cuteness attracts people.
Why is Hello Kitty so perfect? According to her biography, she grew up with love and nutrition from her parents and friends. It seems like whoever created it wants to send a message to the world that children need care and time to grow up. She’s an ideal friend who’s always thoughtful and caring.
