Nintendo's, game boys, or Xbox's aren't anymore what used to keep kids minds interested; they've been replaced with much more now. White brown crystals and black sticky substances at what attract young kids these days. Based on a study done in 2008 with NSDUH, 114,000 first time users are seen to be 12 years old or older. Earlier in 2007 they did the study and in came out to about 153,000 people were using it and then again in 2008 an increase of users aw determined to be around 213,000. (www.nida.nih.gov/infofacts/heroin.html) Heroin is one of the world’s most dangerous drugs in the world. It gives you psychological, physical, and social danger with the intoxication of it. (http://heroin.net/) Heroin is an opiate drug that is made up from morphine. Heroin comes from being extracted from a seed called "Asian opium poppy plant" and then from that you get your white brown powder. Heroin also can be called a "black tar heroin" because of the black sticky substance that can be extracted from the plant. (www.nida.nih.gov/infofacts/heroin.html) Originally Heroin was used to treat heart attack and release the severe pain caused by it. It functioned as a morphine prodrug. "Pure Heroin" is usually also called "hydrochloride salt" and that is what the white crystals of Heroin are called. Heroin is thought to be produced in Afghanistan, but he production in Mexico has risen up as well. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/heroin) Based on my knowledge of science and the American society, Heroin should be treated with professional care. In order to be somber that person needs psychological help that includes three steps to it: detox, counseling, and after care. With the mistreating of each, people by themselves cannot treat or cure their addiction.
