Hip Hop music, also known as rap music, is a musical genre made of a rhythmic vocal style called rap. Its rhythm varies in many different ways. It has slow rhythm at times, fast rhythm at times, and sometimes it is moderate. Hip Hop has been around for many years, the main instruments that are used are, drums, piano, and bass. The drums and the bass usually hold the beat together, while the piano and flutes give it a different kind of tune.
Hip hop is very unique in many ways. Unlike other styles, Hip Hop usually rhymes and has a very interesting story or background to it. Hip Hop is also used accapella, which implies that it at sometimes doesn’t have a beat, or backbeat at all. The lyrical content of Hip Hop has been criticized also for many years, because of its sex related and explicit lyrics. This is because of the kind of culture it was brought up in. The tempo of this music is usually upbeat, but sometimes it is slow and somber. All depending on the artist and how the artist feels.
I like this style of music because it has lyrics that I can relate to easily. I have been brought up around music like this, and the language isn’t foreign to me. Rappers and Music artist try to relate to almost everybody that buys their albums. My favorite artist is Nas because of his deep thoughts, and religious beliefs at times.
A person may not like this kind of music because of the explicit lyrics, and backbeat which usually a loud type of music. The songs are usually interesting, but some people cannot relate, and do not understand the lingo. But overall the music is great.
