People of the North America have built lot of handmade designs, shapes etc. Monk mound got its name because of the monastery of French Trappist monks that was built on the top of it in the 1800's. In the last year, a research is conducted to determine the origin of soil which was used in the construction of this mound. Either by rafts or on foot this soil was brought here by the people.
