{text:bookmark-start} Favorite Rock or Pop Recording Artist {text:bookmark-end} 3 Doors Down have come from the backwoods of Mississippi to superstardom. They were and still are one the hottest rock bands out there today. They have boasted super hits such as “Kryptonite” and “Loser” along with many others. Their album “The Better Life” was the fastest selling album of all times back in 2000. Brad Arnold the singer-drummer has always had music in his crosshairs, since he was a little boy Brad would set up pots and pans when he was little, and just beat on stuff, whatever he could find. He has four sisters and two brothers who were always giving him inspiration by encouraging him. Brad says everything musically inspires him, even to this day. He says he was always singing around the house. They were playing Kryptonite in their home town of Escatawpa, Mississippi, and surrounding cities near Biloxi, before they were known by any radio station or label. They played local shows at bars and parties. They would play other bands music like Bush, Metallica, and Led Zepplin. They had just about 4 songs memorized at first and that’s what they played, and the people loved it. In 1995 the band only consisted of Brad Arnold on vocals Todd Harrell on the bass and Matt Roberts on guitar. These three guys came up with their name while in Alabama and happened to see a broken sign that read Doors Down, and since there was three of them they decided on 3 Doors Down. In 1997 they had recorded some demos so they that they could sell at their shows. Their song Kryptonite was one of those demos. The group already had this song on the radio and had huge success before ever signing to their label Republic Records of Universal Records. It wasn’t until after playing the club in NYC’s famed club “CBGB’s” that they were even signed. In 1998 Chris Henderson joined the Band; he had previously played with Harrell.
