Hi classmate, I graciously appreciate your interests in visiting my hometown, Edison, New Jersey. In 2008, we’re ranked as 35 out of 100 best places to live by Money Magazine. Edison New Jersey is “A transportation hub, the township is connected via several interstates to New York, Philadelphia, Trenton and Boston. Usually ranked among the safest cities in the country, Edison is home to a growing middle and upper-middle class community” (Money Magazine). One of our main attractions is our historical monument called The Edison Towers.
This is a must see on your visit. The tower lights up at night time and there’s also a small gift shop where you can buy souvenirs. Our wonderful town’s name may sound familiar because we are named after the brilliant inventor of lights, Thomas Edison.
The most recommended place to stay is the Sheraton hotel. It’s a very classy 4 star hotel. They have everything from indoor pools to room service, you name it. Every room features flat panel HD TVs, with incredibly comfortable mattresses, ensemble of 300-thread count linens, and duvets. That’s if you could afford about 135 dollar per night. If not, I’ll recommend the Red Roof In. It’s not as classy, but it has all the necessities you need.
When it comes to foods, it all depends on what your taste buds are craving. The cheesecake factory is highly recommended. They have a very friendly staff and the food tastes great. The Edison Diner is another place where a great meal is available 24 hours around the clock. This is where I go when I crave fluffy buttermilk pancakes at any given time.
The only thing we partially lack here is the night life, but don’t worry, New York City is only 30 to 40 minute away. You don’t even have to drive, which I don’t recommend anyway unless you’re a very defensive driver. All you have to do hop on the NJ transit from one of our two local train stations in Edison or Woodbridge, and that will take you directly into downtown Manhattan....
