Homecoming

Entertaining, group effort, bonding, inspiring, hard work and masses amount of school spirit. What does all this mean? Only one thing it has to be homecoming! There was a great deal of planning for this one week of excitement for the student body. My theme was horror I presented all my ideas and plans to student council as did the 50’s and MTV. We had a difficult time deciding our theme from the three. In the end student council decided to leave the theme up to the student body. Each student was given a ballot for them to vote for one of the three choices. In the end MTV won with horror in 2nd and the 50’s in 3rd. Finding out our theme was the easy part planning the whole week was the challenge.
The most fun I’ve had that I will never want to repeat was homecoming. I am happy to say that we did finish and we did the absolute best I think that anyone could have expected. But I was not ready for what I thought would be a walk in the park. I had no idea all the work student council really has to do in order to make it run smoothly. I mean it was the most fun I have ever had during homecoming don’t get me wrong but at times I felt I was working way to hard for nothing till it all came together which I’m glad I did now.
On Monday, we went back in time to the original MTV and early musicians our halls were filled with Madonnas to Michel Jackson and everything in between. Once lunch came around we had the students play “autograph please” were they had to get their classmates signatures on a white t shirtwere the winners of course the seniors. Tuesday the halls were filled with outrageous looking students dressed up as beauties and geeks, and had them play MTV trivia were the seniors and 7th grades tied for first. Later that day we had some friendly tournament of volleyball between all the fall sports and teachers.
