September 29 2008 Livestock or Glue Machines? To most Americans the horse slaughter industry exists only in the phrase "to be taken to the glue factory," but this phrase is off the mark. Neglected or surplus horses considered burdensome are currently more likely to fall victim to slaughtering in the United States for human consumption abroad. America has always been on the forefront on human rights but it is not right that animal rights are dragging behind. Horses are one of the most neglected animals alive in America today. Many of those aware of this practice simply say the industry is a "necessary evil," that slaughtering horses is a responsible way to dispose of those who are either sick, abused, or no longer wanted. However, these people stand to gain from the industry. Selling horses to slaughter provides additional money to purchase another horse or extra cash to those stealing them. These horses are being slaughtered simply because the option exists, and money can be gained. This gain falls back through the chain of employees. It is the law in America that during slaughter there must be a Board Certified Vet on hand to make sure the methods used are humane and sanitary. Some choose to sign the necessary papers and turn a blind eye to the acts happening while the majority of slaughter houses choose to slaughter without the presences of a qualified vet. hhhh hhhhh h h h h h h hhhhhh hhhhh jjjjj jjjjj j jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii uuuuu uuuuuu uuuuuuuu uuuuuuu jnnnnnnnnnn mmmmmmmmmmm hh h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h j j j j jk k k k k k k k k k k k k k k k k k k k k k k
