How can one be considered a leader? I believe that being a leader is more than just being in charge. It is to use and develop your skills in support of the community. There are many aspects to leadership; to be a leader you must be a team player and be willing to let others lead as well. The leaders should ask rather than tell the groups what needs to be done and always remember that working as a team is the most important thing. Dependability is a key trait for a leader to always be there for their group. Leaders should set examples for others to see and follow. Following the rules and expectations and understand the consequences to their actions. A good leader should also have good people skills. It would be useful to know how to approach somebody in the right way. But you also need to be strong willed, and willing to listen to others' queries. I think that a good quality of leadership is being able to build up to her people's esteems and to give good and wise advice. Therefore, respecting others is crucial of becoming a successful leader, because if you are not respected, then no one will follow you. Without followers you will no longer be able to make a difference. A good leader is courageous, able to make decisions without hesitation, and maintains integrity of word and deed. Demonstrating the qualities of leadership not only wins friends and influences people; it sets the standard of behavior within an group, just like President John Quincy Adams once said, "If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader."
