How did immigration have an impact on the United States an South Carolina?

Immigration impacted the United States and South Carolina in different ways, one of the ways was they brought their culture with them. Some of the things they introduced was the kinds of food they ate, the different languages they spoke, also the way they danced, what kind of books they read and a whole bunch of other stuff. But the immigrants did cause some conflicks such as over crowding. There where alot of people coming in but not enough space to put them all.So some families/people would live in houses called "tenement houses" these where houses that were very small.Sometimes several families would live in one tenement house at once. As you can imagine this caused problems such as if some one in the home was sick it was often that the sickness would spread through the house and get the people in the home sick as well. Most immigrants would get jobs as factory workers and with the money they earned they would go and buy some suppiles so the immigrants also helped out the store owners. Most immigrants lived in the city where there were factories and they would live in ethnic towns like "Little Italy or China Town" they would live in these towns because they were comfortable with their own kind/culture.Most immigrants were not liked because when the factory workers were not happy with working long days with little money so they went on strike, but when they went on strike the immigrants would come in and take their jobs and take it as is such as long work days and little pay!
So that is how immigrants impacted the United States as well as South Carolina.
