Society is the totality of people and social relations in a given geographic space. Culture is a huge part of societ along with groups, and roles.Culture is ubiquitous. Culture consists of patterns explicit and implicit for behavior acquired and transmitted by symbols, constituting the distinctive achievements of human groups including their embodiments and artifacts; the essential core of culture consists of traditional ideas or beliefs especially their attached values.107 Culture systems can be considered products of action meaning Culture systems (the total package of material and nonmaterial cultural things) are created by humans and are in this sense considered products of action. Or as conditioning elements of further action meaning Culture puts us in the same rut. Every society has problems that must be solved. Once a solution is provided people tend to stick to that solution, and it is repeated although we elaborate upon them these customs or traditions influence the way we live life. 108 ( ) You can break up culture into material culture and non-material culture. Material culture includes all things that humans make or adapt from the raw stuff of nature (98) Material culture is made up of artifacts; artifacts are bi-products of human behavior. For example if I pick up a rock for a wall the rock I used becomes a part of my material culture. All the other rocks that I ignored are merely rocks. Non material culture is made up of intangible things and they can be simple or complex. Sub culture is a group of people who’s shared specialized vales, norms, beliefs, or use of material culture sets them apart from other people in society. For example police officers have an occupational subculture that is a result of their work, they tend to see the world differently then other civilians.
