How to Use Facebook

Communication, since the beginning of time, has evolved greatly. People of the 21st century are able to communicate faster and easier than ever before. With the invention of the Internet in the mid 20th century, came many new ways of communicating such as instant messaging and networking. Facebook is a networking website that allows you to set up an account and communicate with others. In this essay I will explain how to set up an account and use Facebook.

In order to use set up an account and use Facebook you will need a computer with an internet connection and an email account. First, start up your computer. Once it is started click on your internet connection and connect to the internet. Once the web-browser has loaded, click on the URL browser and type in www.Facebook.com. After the webpage has loaded, you will see on the middle to bottom left-hand of the screen the words “sign up.” Underneath those words are spaces for you to fill out such as your first name, last name, email address, password, sex, and date of birth. Once you have filled out all the information needed, click on the button that says “sign up.” It will now say that you will need to confirm your email. To do this, click on the link given and it will take you to your email account. Sign in and click on the email from Facebook. Once open, read and click the link provided; your account will be setup and you will be directed back to the Faceboook website.

When the page has loaded you will now be able to add friends and fill out your personal info. First it will show some people you may know and want to add. Click on the pictures of the people you want to add and click the continue button. After the page has loaded it will now ask you to fill in your email address and password. Once this is done click the continue button. Next, the page will say for you to fill in your profile info. Fill in the spaces that say high school, college, and company....
