Robert Fernandez is a 21 year old young man that is at his prime for college basketball. It has been a tough road for Robert his mom was a single mother of two that had suffer from domestic abuse from their father in San Fernando, California. His family was so poor they barely had enough to eat this resulted has caused Robert to follow bad paths allowing him to make fast money for his family. His big break came his senior year of high school when he was offered a full scholarship to the University of Los Angeles to play basketball. This young man came from being a poor little Mexican with no future, to making his momma proud and becoming an outstanding player. The University has ever seen anyone play like him in the past three years, he has broken the record for averaging the most points in the NCAA for the university. When asked what he thought of his success he has always said “ None of this would be possible if it wasn’t for my mom who showed me that life is not always as bad as it seems. She gave me the strength and everything I am is because of her.” After accomplishing what he has accomplished in the past three years he is entering the draft to play pro ball. The draft is tomorrow at 12pm he is a little anxious to see what the outcome will be. He has been talking to his agent that has been his mentor for most of his life. His name is Derek Miller and they went to high school together, Derek was shot at a drive by that caused him to leave basket for the rest of his life. The time has come the day Robert and Derek have been waiting for has arrived. Roberts life is going to change forever either he will be living the his dream playing for the NBA or he would life his life in disappointment if he does not get drafted. Robert is nervous as he sits and waits for the names and picks to be chosen. He has had three sodas and has gone to the bathroom about 10 times. Derek is sitting next to him and tells him “Calm down man you will get a good pick just relax”...
