“There was this kid, a good kid, seventeen years old, and he went down to the local Mc Donald’s to get an after-school job. The manager told him that because he did not speak Spanish,she could not hire him because it would have a disruptive effect on all the other workers” (Dickey 3). This is an incident where a teenage boy trying to earn a little bit of extra money and he is being told that he cannothave the job because he does not speak the illegal immigrant’s language. This young boy is a native born and should not have to be told that he can not get a job in the United States because of that reason. Congress should not let illegal immigrants stay in the United States. Congress should come up with a policy that will stop immigration because there is a lack of control over it. Illegal immigrants are taking opportunities away from Americans who have worked their whole lives to achieve.
A woman by the name of Barbara Jordan was against every aspect of illegal immigration. So Mrs. Jordan went to talk to the high authorities about having a meeting with formerPresident Bill Clinton. When Mrs. Jordan finally got permission to do so,she knew exactly what she was going to say. When Mrs. Jordan got into the room with President Clinton she looked at him and before saying anything about why she was there she started with this quote, “Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, kept out; and those who should not be here at all will be required to leave immediately” (Graham 156). Saying that, President Clinton said that he understood what she was saying and that he would back her up thewhole way with her protest against illegal immigration.
