Operations management is concerned with managing inputs through transformation processes to deliver outputs for people, materials, and technologies. It is concerned with managing the resources that directly produce the organization's services or products. Operations management is also very important in business operations since if forms the heart of the organization by controlling the system of operations. Also it deals with the designing, operation and improvement of systems that create and deliver a firm's primary products and services. An important objective of effective operations management is that it is able to produce professional managers capable of fulfilling strategic roles within business and government enterprises. Like human resources and marketing, operations management is a functional field of business with clear managerial responsibilities (Russell & Taylor III, 2011).
Human Resources Management is the strategic management of the employees, who individually and collectively contribute to the achievement of the strategic objectives of the organization. Assuming that the employees of a company are individuals with their own mental maps and perceptions, their own goals, and their own personalities and as such they cannot be perceived as a whole, human resource management holds that an organization should be able to employ both individual and group psychology in order to commit employees to the achievement of the overall organizational goals. Human Resource Management functions as the link between the company and the employees. A company should first become aware of the needs of its employees, and at a later stage, understand and evaluate these needs in order to make its employees perceive their job as a part of their personal life, and not as a routine obligation.
