This paper discusses the ethics and corporate responsibilities of companies and lack there of. In this essay, we examine different situations where companies did the right thing and situations where they did not. Ethics and corporate responsibility not only describes what a company does internally, but also shows what they did externally. Public relations are a huge way that companies can effectively show ethics and corporate responsibility.
Business ethics and corporate responsibility are a huge part of businesses and companies here and around the world. In the public’s mindset, ethics are an unconscious reason why people do business with a specific company or not. A good way for companies to show that they are ethically responsible is by displaying good public relations or PR. This paper will examine the companies that show good ethics and what they did to do so. This paper will also examine the companies that did not show good business ethics or corporate responsibilities and show what they did to not keep pace and also describe in detail what they could have done in order to stay on the good side of consumers.
There is not an exact definition of business ethics and corporate responsibility. One consumer can view one thing as ethically correct while another could disagree (ie. animal products). The overall public opinion, however, affects companies tremendously. This could make a very profitable company bankrupt while making a very small company huge.
