Dr. Sherwin MGMT/521 Why I Chose to Pursue my MBA Degree First off I would like to begin by giving a little background information on what started my Pursuit of Happiness. When I decided to pursue my Bachelor’s Degree, I wanted to become an attorney. I figured I would become this big time Lawyer and help all of these innocent (until proven guilty) people. Another reason why I wanted to become an attorney was because people thought I would be good at it. The way people perceive others in life to me plays a big role in career choices. I have always been perceived as Ameerah the one who always has a question, which then leads to an argument, which then leads to me winning the argument. Early on in life almost everyone that I have come in contact with, has always has told me I should become a lawyer. Not just because I like to argue, but because I am very people oriented, personable, creativeand compassionate about getting to the bottom of things. Once reality set in and life shifted me in another direction, my dreams of becoming this big time lawyer shifted. I realized law wasn’t interesting to me anymore, not because I didn’t want to help people but because, it wasn’t who I was anymore. Pursuing an MBA degree for me is going to be huge accomplishment I never realized how important furthering your education was. In my opinion, choosing a career that fits your personality is also very important and it can be a life altering decision. I received my Bachelor’s Degree and soon realized that all of the companies that I would consider working for would require me to further my education. At that moment I decided that it would be beneficial to me to pursue my Master’s Degree. Once I did a little research I picked a University that would be compatibleto my lifestyle.
