Information Society

The term ‘Information Society’ is implied to those who use ‘complex electronic information networks’ in order to allocate resources and communicate information. The creation and manipulation of information is seen as a significant economic, cultural and political activity that encourages society to continue living in a technological world. Over a period of time, media networks have expanded and become an integrated part of society to the point that it has replaced face-to-face communication, which is one example that I will be discussing. This ‘Interconnectedness’ of people has attracted a high degree of dependence for each other in order to survive and maintain a good life style, which is the second example that I will be discussing in support of the Information Society.

As a result of the Information Society, there is a clear ‘interconnectedness’ of people, which means that people are becoming closer due to new technological changes. Media networks have become a central role in the exchange of information and allocation of resources, that face-to-face communication is no longer necessary and people are finding themselves drawn more to the technological world, than with the human world, to get information. New technologies transform entertainment, and a few examples of these social networks would be; Face book, My space and Email, which have all become a worldwide phenomenon that society have become dependant on them for information.

Over a period of time, society has maintained normal conditions of life through information received by new technologies and media. The interconnectedness of society all brings about awareness of risks, health and how to maintain a good lifestyle. Such information is spread by society itself through social networks and media, which is picked up by others, thus awareness is derived through public circulation.
