Informative Speech- My Favorite Rapper, Jay-Z

I am going to introduce Jay-Z, my favorite rapper, who also known as Shawn Carter. I am going to tell you more about him, his achievement and the issue he cares about. He was born in Brooklyn, New York. He was raised up in Marcy Projects that was one of housing projects built for poor families. His father left him and his mother when he was a teenager. Since then, he had to support himself. He used to be a hustler in order to make money to earn his living. A hustler is a person who tries to trick people into giving him money. He was the one who successfully made his life a great change from poverty to wealth.
In his career, he made so many great hits and appeared in many other rap, R&B artists’ songs. He had a great achievement in his music. He released his first album Reasonable Doubt in 1996,but its chart position was only #23. After a year, 1997, his second album In My Lifetime, Vol. 1 the chart position became #3. Afterward he released many albums such as Vol. 2: Hard Knock Life, Vol. 3: Life and Times of S. Carter, The Dynasty: Roc La Familia, The Blueprint, The Black Album, etc. all of these albums have very high chart position in Billboard.
He has the ability to create verse in his brain, without writing on a paper. He claimed that he used only two day to write album The Blueprint. This is the first album of Jay-Z I bought. Since then, I know more about him and rap music. In his albums, he talks about his life experiences, his thoughts, his career and so on. Jay-Z mentioned that his mother bought him a boom box for his birthday present. He became really interested in music. He started writing rhymes, freestyling, and listen to the many popular artists’ music.
