The greatest treasures are those invisible to the eye but found in the heart.
A blind man can appreciate the beauty of the world around him because although he doesn’t have the eyes to see, he still has the heart to feel. Heart in science is the organ that pumps blood, with its life-giving oxygen and nutrients, to all tissues of the body. But in art, heart has an abstract definition. Its meaning depends upon how a person looks at it.
For me, it is a place where our emotions stay and argue for the one who should prevail. I believe that there are many things the eyes can’t see which are visible to the heart. In making decisions, the eyes would tell us where we should be but the heart would whisper the place where we want to be. Some would choose where they should be but the question is, are they happy? Let us always bear in our minds that not all what we see is true because sometimes, the more valid basis is how we feel about that certain things.
It’s in the heart where we can find forgiveness. Our mind will just analyze the wrongs of others and decide the extent of damage it caused us. But only the heart will know the perfect time to forgive. A feeling that can never be imposed by the mind.
This article reminds me how feel. This past few days, I am very focused with my study that I forget to ask myself am I happy doing those things? Or I am just pressured to accomplish what they told me to do. I stopped for a while, take a deep sigh and say, I am happy, not because we finished the task but because we did it together. I am satisfied not because the product is good but because I can see our joint effort in the product. Reasons that cant been seen by the eyes and can’t be understand by the brain because what they see is the finish product alone not the efforts, experiences and tears behind that product. And I am proud that I have such heart which is sensitive to those things.
Thank you Prof. Cruz for this informative and inspiring article. I hope others will...
